Dog of Honor

My Mom and Dad got married on October 25, 1997, and I got to be the Dog of Honor. My name was in the program and everything. It said, "Dakota, Dog of the Couple." It was so much fun! My name was even in the newspaper afterward!

Here are some pictures from the wedding!

prep.jpg (23770 bytes) Here's my Dad helping me get ready for the wedding. I had to take a bath a few days before, and wear this baby-powder smelling spray. My mom made my collar out of ribbon that she made into roses. And there were roses on my leash, along with my name in gold glitter. Pretty fancy stuff for a dog.
wedthre.jpg (31929 bytes) Here's me and my folks on the wedding day. My Grandma made my Mom's dress, and it was really pretty. The photographer took lots of pictures of me, and everyone kept giving me treats.
out.jpg (26599 bytes) Here's me and my folks outside the church. My Mom was wearing a green velvet cape to keep warm. Dad said when he touched it, it felt like he was rubbing my ears.

 Here I am holding paws with my Mom. We were just playing around, and the photographer took this picture. He just missed me giving my Mom a good luck kiss on the nose.
paws.jpg (22955 bytes) This picture makes everyone laugh. It's my paw, along with my Mom's paw and my Dad's paw. Hey, how come I'm the only one without a ring?

 Here I am with my mom's cousin Stephanie. She took care of me during the wedding and was called the "Dog Attendant." In the program it said she was a "Friend of the Dog." She's really nice and gave me lots of treats and hugs.
aisle.jpg (22351 bytes) Everyone went "ooh" and "ahh" when I walked my Dad down the aisle. I sat with Stephanie during the ceremony, and I was a good girl. No whining or barking or anything. (And no accidents!) My Mom and Dad were really proud of me.
exit.jpg (25847 bytes) Here's my Mom's cousin Jamie taking me out to the limo. I was making my grand exit, and letting everyone see me one last time, since I didn't get to go to the reception.
limo.jpg (18147 bytes) Here I am with my head out the limo window. I got to ride home in the limo, and it was really fun! I was looking out the big windows at everyone waving to us, and then I fell right asleep. It had been a long day, and I was happy to get home and snuggle up on the bed.
